1973 AVO RS2000
Here is the old girl know by all as "GOO". GOO has driven me the whole length of Britain on numerous occasions and hardly missed a beat! I almost parted company last month but just couldnt bear to do it!!

Modified 2.1 Tuned Pinto
GOO has had several mod's but all have been kept as period as possible. 142 bhp at wheels at 5250rpm.
Aldon Distributer and Lumenition Ignition system.
Twin 40 DHLA dellortos, big valve head, fast road cam, overbore to 2.1.
Free flow 4 branch manifold and exhaust 4-2-1.
competion Magnecor 8.5mm HT leads, cold running NGK AP6FS plugs.
Type 9 five speed box, bilstein suspension all round.
Battery in boot conversion (set on alloy shelf and in plastic battery box),
Kenlowe electric fan, front blade spoiler.
4 oscars (2 spot, 2 fog).

1979 Genuine Gp1 SeriesX RS2000
When I bought DDA the whole XPack was cracking away from the body and a full length Sunroof was in place wrapped in Vynal. I just had to see past all this and this is now the end result of the restoration work carried out. |
Modified 2.2 Gp1 Spec Pinto
Engine is SreisX Gp1 2.2 Overbored with new Pistons. Stage 2 head, modified and ground with inlet doweled and matched.
Fuel pump is a Facet Silver top (Located in Boot).
Twin Webber 45's with twin Webber Linkage.
New K+N Filters.
Kent RL2 Cam with Vernier Timing.
Flywheel and Rods lightened and balanced.
The starter is Sierra 2.0i.
Distributer is a non vac Piper rally or race jobby.
Coil is from an XR2 so has a good spark.
New Plugs, leads and Ignition system.
Luminetion Ignition.
NGK 7's sparks.
8mm Competion HT leads.
Performance manifold of 2" dia.
Gp1 ,2 1/4" Custom built 2 Peco Box Right hand exit system.
Bottom end is balanced and has the standard RS sump.
Serc 8 row oil cooler.
Capri 2.8i rad with the funnels changed to match.
The engine runs on Valvoline Racing Oil just now.
Power band is I 2,800 to 7,500.
Dynoed at 150bhp at 5,200rpm and still climbing steeply but operator backed off as he did not want to hammer it on the rollers. He reckons it easily puts out 160bhp.
The power is very drivable too which is nice.
5 off 7.5" RS Alloys spun and resprayed in correct Grey/Black.
Four new tyres.
235 50 13's for the rear
215 50 13's for the front
4 new headlights.
2 new fog lights.
New 5 speed Type 9 gearbox.

Sierra 2.0i Clutch Kit.
Full Custom Pack.
Fishnet Recaro seats in black.
New door cards in black with no holes.
3 point Willans harness's fitted to proper reinforcement plates above the axle with the Ford sealer.

1 off Oil Pressure.
1 off Battery Amps.
2 Piece Standard Prop.
Diff is LSD Quaiffe worm type. 3.9:1 ratio.
Standard grooved rear drums and Tarox pads.
Forest Spec Rear Billisteins.
Panhard rod and the standard RS2 anti tramp bars.
Front discs Tarox vented and Gooved with M16 calipers.
Tarox Red Dot Pads.
Front Gp1 Bilsteins Struts and 190lb springs.
Roller Top Mounts.
Anti dive kit.

1973 AVO RS1600 BDA
My special baby!! When first bought UMX was white but I then dicovered first registration was in black. At first just a body repaint was on the cards. That was then though!
Its funny how a project just keeps growing!
UMX is now a mint top spec beastie!!

Modified 1700 Cosworth BDA
BDA rebored with Cosworth pistons and rings Billet steel crank, steel rods, Comp bearing shells
BD3 Inlet and Exhaust cams
Heavily Ported and Polished Head
New valve guides, tappets set up, new cam belt
New steel lightened flywheel, clutch plate, pressure plate, and release
bearing and new
All new gaskets and seals etc.
Twin 48 DCO SP carbs
Twin K+N Air Filters
Lucas electronic ignition
New electric fuel pump / filter regulator
New uprated oil pump, water pump, etc
Mocal Multi Row Thermostat controlled Oil Cooler
All braided Stainless hoses and Aloy Fittings were possible through whole sytem and Catch Tank.
Internal Aux Oil Temp/Pressure guage.
New alternator
New polyvee belt kit (new alternator, crank and water pump pulleys)
New radiator core fitted, with new Kenlowe fan and thermostat.
New hoses.
Crinkle Black Painted Cam Cover and correct Chrome Filler Cap on wire.
Approx estimated power 170+ Not known as not run in yet !
